Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club

2020 Show Registration

Welcome

Welcome to the 2020 Spring Show Registration - "Music of the Decades!"

Dear SFFSC Families,

It's almost that time of year again... the 2020 annual spring show is just right around the corner!  Over the years participation has brought many figure skaters together of all ages, skating levels, and abilities.  This years theme, "Music of the Decades" will undoubtedly be a crowd favorite and we hope it is one that will be forever remembered.

Like many SFFSC events, we will be looking for volunteers to help assist in preparation for our shows.  Please consider volunteering and helping us do our best for our SFFSC members, as well as our Learn to Skate members.

See you on the ice!

Sincerely,

Tiffany Thornton & SFFSC Board of Directors

Show Information & Details

This year, all SFFSC home club members will have an opportunity to perform a solo provided they have passed the USFS Preliminary Free Skate test and/or ISI Freestyle 4 test.  However, only athletes who have passed their Juvenile Free Skate test and/or ISI Freestyle 5 test (or HIGHER) will be permitted to perform as a soloist at both shows

*****Every skater registering as a soloist must also register for a group number.  Group level assignments are listed below.*****

Test Deadline - February 7, 2020.

Solo Show Assignments - Any athlete performing in one show  will be given a show assignment which will be determined by the show director. No personal requests please.

Solo Alternative - Because many skaters enjoy performing in small groups with their peers, any skater qualifying for a solo may opt out and perform in a duet/small group instead. ***If your skater opts out, please email Tiffany the names of the duet/small members.

Show Choreography - All soloists (duets/small groups included for opt outs) will be expected to hire a coach for choreography and music editing.  On average, it should take no more than 60 minutes in total to choreograph a show program. Please contact your private lesson coach to work out arrangements for choreography.

Costumes -  All show costumes must be approved by the show director.  Email pictures/designs for approval no later than March 25, 2020.

Music - Music selection is on a first come, first serve basis and must relate to the theme of the show.  All requests must be submitted by email through a coach/choreographer.  Because there will be a limited amount of musical selections per decade, please consider having backup selections in the event a certain decade has already been fulfilled.

Music Selection Deadline - March 1, 2020

Registration Deadline - February 7, 2020

****Graduating Seniors have first rights to music selections****
